It’s important to note that the iOS 16.4 beta is intended for testing purposes only and may have performance issues and bugs. However, .x releases like 16.4 are typically stable.

To install the iOS 16.4 public beta, follow these simple steps:

  1. 1. Make a fresh backup of your iPhone
  2. 2. On your iPhone, go to Apple’s public beta website
  3. 3. Tap the arrow in the top right corner and sign in if you’re not already
  4. 4. Make sure you’re on the iOS “Guide for Public Betas”
  5. 5. Swipe down and under the Get Started section, tap enroll your iOS device
  6. 6. Swipe down again and tap Download Profile
  7. 7. Tap Allow to download the profile, hit Close
  8. 8. Head to Settings on your device and tap Profile Downloaded near the top
  9. 9. Tap Install in the top right corner and enter your passcode if needed
  10. 10. Read the consent agreement and tap Install two more times
  11. 11. Your iPhone will prompt you to restart to complete the changes
  12. 12. After it reboots, head back to Settings > General > Software update
  13. 13. You should see iOS 16.4 public beta available, tap Download and Install
  14. 14. Follow the prompts to complete the installation

If you’re a developer, you can install the iOS 16.4 developer beta by following these steps:

  1. 1. Make a fresh backup of your device in case you want or need to downgrade
  2. 2. On your iPhone, go to Apple’s Developer website
  3. 3. Tap the two-line icon in the top left corner and sign in if you’re not already under Account
  4. 4. Swipe down and choose Software Downloads (under Additional Resources)
  5. 5. Tap Install Profile next to the iOS 16.4 beta
  6. 6. Tap Allow to download the profile, hit Close
  7. 7. Head to Settings on your device and tap Profile Downloaded near the top
  8. 8. Tap Install in the top right corner and enter your passcode if needed
  9. 9. Read the consent agreement and tap Install two more times
  10. 10. Your iPhone will prompt you to restart to complete the changes
  11. 11. After it reboots, head back to Settings > General > Software update
  12. 12.You should see iOS 16.4 available, tap Download and Install
  13. 13. When iOS 16.4 is installed, go to Settings > Privacy & Security to enable a new Developer Mode if you’re working on app development
