Munily is a Winter 2022 Y Combinator company that makes software for residential and commercial communities. According to the company, it connects security guards, residents, and administrators in one platform for access control, communication, and day-to-day operations. The App Store listing describes it as a building and condo management app, and Munily’s help pages say the same system is used by communities, property-management firms, and private security teams. (ycombinator.com; munily.com)

For residents, the app focuses on common community tasks: virtual intercom, visitor access, chat with administration, common-area reservations, support requests, and a panic button. Munily’s FAQ also says visitors can be announced in advance, with faster entry flows for different kinds of access, while administrators get a web dashboard for managing accounts, notices, reports, and tickets. The company presents MAIA as an access-control module with facial recognition, and says residents who do not want to register a face can use a QR code generated by the app. (munily.com)

The App Store page shows that Munily is free to download on iPhone and iPad, with a compatibility requirement of iOS 15.6 or later. Apple also lists it as age 4+, in the Lifestyle category, and available in English and Spanish. The listing says it is designed for iPad and supports messaging and chat. (apps.apple.com)

Munily says implementation depends on the size of the community and the modules selected. It also says there is no minimum number of units, that the community needs internet access, and that onboarding includes training for administrators, guards, and residents. For MAIA, Munily says the setup is coordinated during sales and that compatible hardware is needed at the entrance, but no cameras need to be installed by the community itself. (munily.com)

Practical limits matter here: Munily says it does not currently integrate with external management systems such as accounting software or ERPs, and it does not migrate historical data from a previous system. Instead, initial data is loaded through Munily’s import process during onboarding. For someone evaluating the app, that means the product is best understood as an all-in-one community operations tool rather than a bolt-on to existing software. (munily.com)
