Spins: a customizable decision wheel for the early iPhone

The original Spins put faces or options around a wheel for lightweight party games and choices.

Spins was the customizable wheel app featured in the August 15, 2009 article. Its App Store link identifies Apple ID 314509994. The description explained that users could place faces or choices around a wheel and let a spin select among them.

The options make the game

Unlike a game with a fixed set of questions, a choice wheel gets much of its character from what the group puts into it. Names, activities or playful prompts can turn the same basic interaction into different social games. The original article emphasized that light entertainment role.

The surviving description does not establish how many segments were supported, whether probabilities could be changed or how the random selection was implemented. It would therefore be inaccurate to describe the wheel as statistically fair or suitable for consequential decisions without further evidence.

The old roulette comparison concerned the visual spinning device; the article did not establish a real-money gambling service. Current availability and device compatibility remain unverified. No spin or distribution test was performed for this new overview, which preserves the original app identity and customizable-choice premise.
