Tuner Metronome: pitch and rhythm tools from MIZO

The historical MIZO app combined a reference-tone generator, a microphone tuner and a configurable metronome.

Tuner Metronome was MIZO’s music-practice app, identified by Apple ID 311412641. The August 16, 2009 listing grouped three functions: reference tones, a chromatic microphone tuner and a metronome.

A reference pitch and a measured pitch

The historical specifications advertised calibration from 430 to 450 Hz, a tone generator and a display in cents or hertz. These functions answer different questions: a generated tone supplies a reference, while a tuner estimates the pitch of an incoming sound. The original claims about one-cent accuracy and rapid detection were developer specifications, not measurements reproduced here.

Build a beat as well as a pitch reference

The described metronome covered 42–216 beats per minute, tap-tempo entry, different beat groupings and several rhythmic subdivisions. A tempo value controls how often the pulse occurs; grouping and subdivision affect how the player hears the structure within it.

That combination made the app a compact practice toolkit rather than only a single tuning needle. The saved listing does not establish audio-latency behavior on modern hardware or current support for every named instrument.

Current availability is unverified. No pitch-accuracy, timing or calibration test was performed. This historical profile keeps the detailed original specifications separate from an endorsement of their measured performance.
