Apple adds a Made for iPhone Duo badge to spotlight optimized apps

Apple is surfacing a Made for iPhone Duo badge on App Store pages for apps optimized for the new device.

Apple is turning its iPhone Duo launch-week developer push into something users can see on the App Store. According to Apple, apps that are updated for the new device can display a Made for iPhone Duo badge on their product pages, making optimized apps easier to spot at a glance. [4] [1]

The company says developers can now submit iPhone Duo-optimized apps and games through App Store Connect. Apple has also updated guidance for screenshots and app previews so product pages can better reflect how an app looks on Duo’s display and form factor. [1] [4]

That badge matters because it turns compatibility into a storefront feature, not just a developer note. For shoppers, it creates a quick way to tell whether an app has been tailored for the new device before they download it. [4] [1]

Apple’s official iPhone Duo page shows the actual hardware and details the device itself, which gives the App Store badge context: the company is pairing a fresh product image with a discovery layer for software that takes advantage of the new screen layout. [2] [3]

Apple says the new submission path is already open, while the requirement for new app submissions to include iPhone Duo screenshots begins in April 2027. For now, the story is less about speculation and more about how Apple is nudging developers and shoppers to treat Duo as a distinct app platform. [1] [4]
