Levers: A Balancing Puzzle Where Every Object Changes the Game

Vectorpark’s Levers challenges you to balance hangers, a water bucket and an unusual cast of objects above the waves. Revisit the 2010 iPhone game.

Levers turns a hanging mobile into a physics puzzle. Vectorpark’s game asks you to suspend an increasingly awkward collection of objects above the water, adjusting the balance as the arrangement grows. Our original July 12, 2010 review described a deceptively simple setup that became more demanding with each new arrival.

Keep the whole arrangement afloat

The starting point is a balance-beam-like hanger. Objects fall into the water, and your task is to lift them into an arrangement that keeps everything dry. According to the original review, a clock measures how long the objects remain clear of the surface; after a successful interval, another object arrives.

That creates an evolving problem rather than a single neat solution. Every addition can disturb what was already balanced. More hangers and more objects give you additional possibilities, but also more relationships to watch.

Look closely at the objects

The original review’s most useful tip concerned the bucket: letting water drain changes its weight, giving you another way to adjust the balance. A snowman and a birdhouse were also part of the game’s unusual collection. These small discoveries are central to its appeal.

Vectorpark’s App Store description likewise encourages players to examine how objects interact and to tilt the phone to help keep them above water. It also notes that running out of hooks does not make the puzzle impossible. Observation matters as much as finding somewhere to hang the next object.
