For an iPhone session today, begin with the current mobile edition and the account shown inside it. Matching the word Minecraft on two screens does not by itself establish that both players have compatible editions or the intended profiles.
Why are there two account names?
Mojang’s platform account guide distinguishes Apple iOS requirements from the Microsoft account used for Minecraft services. An Apple purchase history and a Minecraft social identity answer different questions. Record which account acquired the app, then separately check the Microsoft profile used for play.
This distinction is especially useful on a family device. Before creating a replacement account, establish whether the player already has one. A new profile can make familiar purchases or friends appear missing simply because the session is looking in a different place.
How do you sign in on mobile?
The official mobile instructions start with Sign In from Minecraft, followed by the sign-in window. Select or enter the intended Microsoft account and complete the confirmation. Give the profile a few seconds to load before deciding that content is absent.
Check the account name deliberately if the device offers a saved login. The easiest button to tap is not always the correct family member. Avoid sharing passwords in a public troubleshooting discussion; a description of the edition and error is more useful.
What should a useful help request include?
State the devices involved, the editions, whether each player can sign in, and where the attempt stops. Distinguish an absent friend, a failed invitation and an account error. These are separate observations.
Microsoft sign-in supports crossplay and connected services, but it is not a promise that every multiplayer problem is solved. Start with the narrowest confirmed failure and consult the corresponding official support topic before reinstalling or changing accounts.
