Record the work, not just the clock
On-Core’s listing describes time entries organized by client, project and task, with start-and-stop timers or manually entered durations. A timer can tell you how long a session lasted, but a useful record also explains what the session covered. Agree your labels before accumulating weeks of entries.
Use descriptions another person can understand
“Research” is less informative than a concise explanation of the deliverable investigated. Record enough detail to recognize the work later without placing confidential client material into every note. If you switch projects during the day, review the active timer so an interruption does not become an unexplained billable period.
Check the handoff
Before relying on a billing workflow, try a small sample with the fields and output format you need. Compare the record with your agreement about rounding, expenses and review. The historic URL mentions QuickBooks, but an old slug does not prove that a current integration or export meets your requirements.
