OnTheSnow Ski & Snow Report brings resort information into one place for people choosing where to ski. The Apple listing for app ID 300412347 identifies OnTheSnow / Skiinfo as the developer and Mountain News LLC as the seller. Its useful starting point is a comparison between mountains you could realistically visit, rather than a single snowfall headline.

Build a shortlist you can actually use

The developer describes saved resorts, snow reports, webcams, weather forecasts and firsthand reports from other visitors. Powder alerts can use a snowfall threshold you choose. Those sources answer different questions: a forecast describes expectations, a camera shows one viewpoint, and a visitor report reflects one person’s experience. Read their timestamps before treating them as a picture of the same morning.

For a weekend trip, compare two or three reachable resorts at the same time. Pair the snow total with lift access, visibility and the terrain you want to ski; the mountain with the most new snow is not automatically the best fit.

Check the resort before you leave

Use OnTheSnow’s resort pages as a second way to review the destination, then confirm operating information with the resort itself. Treat a powder notification as a prompt to investigate. It cannot tell you whether a particular run is open, whether a road is passable or whether conditions suit your experience. The app is a planning aid, not a substitute for local operating and safety information.
