Slice It! for iPhone: revisiting Com2uS’s geometry puzzle

Identify the original Com2uS Slice It! app, revisit its paper-and-pencil design and development history, and check the status of its old iPhone download.

Slice It! was Com2uS’s geometry-inspired puzzle game for iPhone and iPad. Our original review linked to Apple app ID 388116298 and named Com2us USA, Inc. as its seller. This guide restores that history and explains what can still be verified about the game.

The game behind the old review

The archived iPhoneApplicationList page identifies an August 30, 2010 release. Its preserved store information later showed version 1.7.1, updated July 6, 2011. Those dates describe the historical listing, not a recent update.

Allison Wahl’s review described the appeal as a blend of geometry, challenge and encouragement. The title screen pictured above shows the game’s distinctive notebook-paper design, colored-pencil lettering and hand-drawn buttons. Com2uS shared this actual product image in its own retrospective interview.

How a small idea became a Com2uS hit

In a 2025 interview on the official Com2uS blog, development executive Hong Seung-jun recalled that Slice It! grew from an internal idea competition. He described a three-person team working from a three-page proposal and bringing the game to release over six months.

The company’s official history records Slice It! reaching first place in Apple’s App Store in 31 countries and receiving a 2010 Korea Game Grand Prize award. These are Com2uS’s historical milestones; they are not positions on today’s App Store charts.

Can you download the original iPhone app now?

Apple’s US catalog lookup returned no result for the original app ID when checked on October 15, 2026. We therefore cannot offer a verified current US download or confirm compatibility with today’s iPhones. The old listing’s price and version should not be treated as a current offer.

Use the developer name and app ID above when comparing an old bookmark or purchase record. A similarly named game is not necessarily the Com2uS release. For games that are currently charting, browse our iPhone App Store rankings.
