TwentyThree was an iPhone and iPad social-networking app by Simon Patarin. Our September 17, 2010 article, “TwentyThree: An App with Promise,” covered its attempt to bring several social and location services into one interface. This archive guide identifies the original product, whose App Store ID was 367280549.
One app for several social networks
The archived app listing described support for Foursquare, Gowalla, Brightkite and Twitter. TwentyThree could combine friends’ check-ins on a map and let a user publish their own check-in across connected accounts.
Its description also listed multiple accounts per service, tools for merging duplicate friends and places, built-in help, and native iPad support. The captured version was 1.0.1, described at the time as tested with iOS 4.0. Those details identify a 2010 product; they are not current compatibility or security assurances.
What our original review said
In the original review by Allison Wahl, the appeal was avoiding repeated switches between social apps. The review also noted limits in supported services and locations, and argued that further updates would matter to the app’s usefulness.
The idea captured a particular moment in early smartphone use: friends were spread across competing check-in services, and a single map or feed offered a way to keep up with them. The screenshot on this page is the original iPhone product image preserved from Apple’s image service, not a recreated interface.
Is this the same as a current app named TwentyThree?
A matching name is not enough to establish that two apps are the same product. The useful identifiers here are the seller, Simon Patarin, and the original App Store ID, 367280549. Apple’s US catalog returned no result for that ID when checked on October 15, 2026.
We have not verified a current download or working version of the original integrations. The archived listing and review remain available as historical sources, but their old pricing, account connections and compatibility claims should not be treated as current instructions.
