TripAlyizer: trip records and driving data on the early iPhone

The historical TripAlyizer combined GPS trip information with a vehicle notebook and an advertised efficiency score.

TripAlyizer was an iPhone utility linked to the product page at surichtech.com. The archive preserved at this October 28, 2008 URL identifies Apple app ID 293631169 and describes GPS-based trip recording alongside a vehicle-information notebook.

A journey has several measurements

The historical feature list included speed, direction, distance, time and cost per trip. Its advertised efficiency score considered speed, acceleration, idling, stops and time within a preferred operating range. Those are the factors named in the original description, not evidence that the score accurately measured fuel consumption or produced savings.

The useful distinction is between a trip record and an interpretation of that record. Distance and duration describe a journey; an efficiency percentage depends on the method used to convert observations into a score. The archive does not document that method well enough to validate it.

A notebook for the vehicle too

TripAlyizer also offered space for mileage, a VIN, maintenance schedules, tire pressure and insurance information. That put administrative records next to journey data instead of treating the phone only as a speed display.

Current availability and GPS compatibility are unverified. No driving or fuel-use test was conducted for this historical overview, and the original savings language is not a promise about present-day operating costs.
