Follow a subject with purpose
YouTube is useful when you turn a broad video catalogue into a small set of reliable channels. Google’s listing describes channel subscriptions, personal recommendations and a library of saved videos. For a practical subject such as learning a camera technique, start with a creator who shows the complete process and explains the equipment being used. A dramatic thumbnail is not evidence that a tutorial matches your phone or experience.
Save the next step
Give a saved video a reason to be there: something to try, a question to investigate or a performance to revisit. After watching a tutorial, write down the action you intend to take. If the instructions depend on an old app interface, check the developer’s current documentation before assuming a missing button means your installation is broken.
Separate watching from subscribing
Following a channel, buying a membership and paying for a broader service are different decisions. Read the offer shown in your account before accepting it. For shared devices, also check which account is active so searches and saved items belong to the intended person. The best personal library is small enough that you can find a useful video again, rather than simply accumulate another endless feed.
