A short moment ago, Apple introduced their new iPad Pro lineup, with 11″ and 13″ models, starting at $99 and $1299 for 256GB of storage. Beyond just the appearance of the brand-new M4 chip, these devices bring a suite of revolutionary changes to the Pro iPad lineup.
Here is everything you need to know about the new iPad Pros:
Thinnest Apple devices ever: 5.3mm (11-inch) instead of 5.9mm and 5.1mm (13-inch) instead of 6.4mm.
Lightest iPad Pros ever: 0.98lbs (11-inch) and 1.28 lbs (13-inch)
Skipping the M3 series, the new iPad Pros are powered by the all-new M4.
A state-of-the-art Tandem OLED Display combines 2 OLED sheets to deliver higher peak brightness and more accurate colors, dubbed Ultra Retina XDR.
A $100 nano-texture glass option on 1TB and 2TB models, for lower reflectivity.
Fastest-ever neural engine in an iPad, and second-generation 3nm technology in the M4 chip.
Surprisingly, Apple is removing the Ultra-Wide camera from the Pro lineup, and opting instead for a single 12MP-main shooter. While it may be disappointing for some, the reality is most people do not buy the iPads for their cameras, and opt instead for their phones. The single camera is comparable to an iPhone 13 Pro main camera. However, a new Flash combined with AI elements mean the new iPad Pros are ultra-good at capturing documents clearly.
The new iPad Pros are available to order today, and shipping next week.
