I Am Hungry: remembering Boston’s early iPhone dining-deals app

Revisit I Am Hungry, Zaang’s Boston restaurant-deals app, with authentic product imagery and an update on its original App Store listing.

I Am Hungry was a Boston restaurant-deals app for iPhone from Zaang Inc. Our 2010 Meals and Deals review covered its attempt to answer a practical question: where can I eat nearby without overspending? This restored guide preserves that app’s identity and features. It is a look back at the original product, not a claim that its old offers or download are available today.

How I Am Hungry worked

The original review described a free app focused on Boston. It listed restaurant promotions, let people filter by cuisine or price, and distinguished deals available immediately from upcoming offers. Restaurant entries connected people with menus, directions, reviews and contact information.

Users could save favorites, return to recently viewed places and share discoveries. They could also judge whether an offer was worthwhile, giving restaurants feedback about their promotions. The appeal was the combination of local discovery and timing: a nearby restaurant was more useful when its offer was available when you wanted to eat.

The original app and its official website

The developer’s archived iPhone download page links to Apple app ID 369027805. That matches the app identified in our old coverage. Its archived official website also advertised restaurant discovery and deals, with a map-based view shown in its product artwork.

The image above is authentic promotional artwork from that official site, recovered from a January 2011 archive capture. It shows the historical interface and marketing, rather than a recreation or a screenshot of a current app.

Is I Am Hungry still available?

Our check of Apple’s US catalog on October 15, 2026 returned no listing for the original app ID. This does not establish availability in every country or whether a previously installed copy still opens. We have not verified a current successor from the original developer.

Treat the old restaurant offers, prices and coverage as historical. For current apps, start with our iPhone App Store rankings, check the named developer, and verify any dining offer directly with the restaurant.
