Moviefone’s iPhone site was linked at iphone.movies.aol.com. The February 18, 2008 listing described a ZIP-code-based service for finding nearby movie showtimes, alongside upcoming releases and a Top 20 movie list.
Choosing a film and choosing a showing
The historical description also listed movie search, user and critic ratings, release countdowns, and showtimes organized by movie or theater. Those two routes address different decisions: a viewer may have a film in mind, or may first need to know what is playing at a convenient location.
Ratings and a release calendar help with selection, while the time and theater determine whether a plan is practical. An old archive can preserve that interface concept, but its showtimes are historical data rather than a schedule to act on today.
The source does not establish ticket purchasing, seat selection or the coverage of every theater. Current operation of this particular mobile endpoint has not been verified. This new profile describes the original Moviefone web experience without importing later booking features into its 2008 record.
