Infiltrator for iPhone: DS Effects’ 2008 web game

Identify the original DS Effects browser game behind this 2008 link, with clear separation from later games that use the same title.

The Infiltrator linked here in February 2008 was a DS Effects web game. The preserved original article names the developer and points to its iPhone games directory, ending in Infiltrator/Infiltrator.php.

A specific game, not a shared name

The old description presents an action-game premise: an agent sent into a fictional country during a revolution to undermine hostile forces from within. The page labels it a web app and instructs visitors to open the DS Effects link in Safari on an iPhone or iPod touch.

Those details distinguish this entry from the later native games called Infiltrator. A matching title alone would be insufficient evidence that a present-day store listing is the same product.

What the archive can tell us

The recovered page confirms the publisher, premise, original link and February 14 publication date. It does not establish the full control scheme, level count, difficulty settings or performance. This restoration therefore does not invent a hands-on review or claim that the game still works in a current browser.

For historical web games, the difference between a preserved description and a functioning game matters. A page may survive while scripts, images or server behaviour needed to play do not. Treat a replayable demonstration as a separate finding that needs to be tested, rather than something implied by an archived title.

The new preview image is contextual artwork for this historical entry. It is not a recovered screenshot, an official DS Effects logo, or evidence of a new release.
