SeeqPod Music Search & Discovery: finding songs from an early iPhone

SeeqPod’s iPhone page used artist search as a starting point for discovering and listening to music.

SeeqPod Music Search & Discovery linked iPhone users to seeqpod.com/iphone. The July 13, 2007 listing described searching for a band and finding songs to listen to through the service.

Begin with an artist, then explore

The distinctive starting point was search. A listener could bring a band’s name to the interface and use the results as the next step, instead of beginning with a station or an album already stored on the phone. That makes the original subject a music-discovery service rather than simply a player for a personal library.

The short archive entry does not explain hosting, playback formats, account requirements or licensing arrangements. It also cannot establish whether any particular song was available. Finding a result and having a stream that still plays are separate parts of the experience.

Current service availability has not been verified, and no stream was tested for this article. The historical address is retained to document the original SeeqPod iPhone experience, not to promise a working music catalogue or download service.
