Bitrig is a Mac app from the Summer 2025 Y Combinator batch that helps people build native Swift apps with AI. The company says it is made by co-creators of SwiftUI, and its core workflow is to take an app idea described in plain language and turn it into real Swift code that can be shipped to the App Store. It is aimed at Apple-platform developers who want an AI-assisted environment rather than a standalone no-code tool. (ycombinator.com; bitrig.com)

According to Bitrig, the app works with real Xcode projects and the full toolchain, so projects can be opened in Xcode at any time. Bitrig also says it includes built-in simulators, including a photorealistic 3D device view, and that it can review the app by tapping, scrolling, and typing like a user before attempting fixes. That makes it more relevant for developers who want to test and refine actual Apple apps, not just generate starter code. (bitrig.com; bitrig.com)

Bitrig also focuses on App Store workflow. The company says it can create an app record, upload builds, manage App Store listings, handle code signing and provisioning, and capture screenshots for required devices and localizations. On the monetization side, Bitrig says it can configure in-app purchases and subscription setup in App Store Connect, and it mentions support for StoreKit and RevenueCat-related paywall work. For developers who already use Apple cloud and sync services, Bitrig says it supports CloudKit and Supabase, plus features like widgets, Live Activities, controls, App Intents, Shortcuts, Siri, and Watch complications. The site also says it supports Apple TV and Vision Pro apps, and that users can connect their own Claude or ChatGPT subscription rather than paying per-token API prices. (bitrig.com; bitrig.com)

Getting Bitrig requires downloading it for Mac, and the download page says it needs macOS 15+ and Apple silicon. The product site says updates ship weekly, and Bitrig Remote is described as a way to connect from iPhone or iPad to build for Apple platforms. Practical limitations are simple: it is Mac-only for the main app, and the company’s own requirements rule out older Macs and earlier macOS versions. (bitrig.com; bitrig.com)
