Keep the first project deliberately small
For a coding activity, aim for one visible behavior: change a label, respond to a tap, or arrange two shapes. Ask the learner to predict the result before running the change. When the result differs, compare the prediction with what happened and identify one thing to investigate.
For another subject, use the same project principle without forcing code into the lesson. A labeled drawing, short explanation, or worked example can reveal understanding more clearly than completing many unrelated taps. Save a first version so changes remain visible.
Check what free access actually supports
Before assigning work, open the exact activity, confirm account requirements, and try saving or sharing the result. A free installation may not include every lesson or classroom feature. Avoid choosing a workflow that reaches a payment prompt only after the learner has invested substantial effort.
