Business and technology have always relied on each other for development and growth.  It’s no surprise that developers for the iPhone are constantly finding ways to integrate the two.  Apps that fit this purpose mostly come in the form of office apps.  These apps allow users to read and share their text, pdf, spreadsheet, or html files.  Office apps for the iPhone make it easier for professionals by enabling them to send and receive important information from any location.

Since the official start to Summer is 4 short days away, the team here at IPAL thought we’d celebrate it with some environmental exaltation. Between the earthquakes, oil spill, and everything in between, it seems that world has been going to shambles, so we want to showcase the best eco-apps out there. Not only will these apps help us make a much happier planet, but they also will give tips on how to save money in the process — everyone wins! So here’s what you can do to help us honor dear old Mother Earth — tell us which are your favorite eco-friendly apps, and be sure to check in every week, starting Monday, June 21st, to see which environmental endeavors are featured!

The BP Oil Spill in the Gulf Coast is the worst spill to date and is bound to affect at least everyone in the USA, if not everyone worldwide. Since everyone will not always have their computers, TVs, or newspapers around them, many apps have been developed so that people can keep track of this disaster as it spreads and washes ashore. Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the future of utilities apps. Tapbots, a series of three utilities apps with robot inspiration, showcase how increased functionality does not mean a sacrifice of unique and impecable design.

The idea for Tapbots was formulated when the two creators, Paul and Mark, left Oakley, Inc. to pursue ideas for simple weight-tracking apps, inspired by the success of the Wii Fit. Once they began their mission and discovered that their designs were reminiscent of characters from Wall-E, the idea struck them — why not have multiple apps, each based on a different robot with its own specialized task? Thus was born the family of Tapbots. There are currently three members: Read the rest of this entry »

Just when you thought the remark, “That’s what she said,” couldn’t get any bigger, it went global. While That’s What She Said:Worldwide isn’t new by any means, I just happened upon it and, boy, am I glad I did. I often harbor the fear that my perfectly-timed and obviously obscene “That’s what she said” comments won’t be appreciated by an international crowd, but these fears can now be assuaged. The app endows you with the knowledge of how to say “That’s what she said” in 37 languages and counting. Now you can rest easy knowing that no one will miss out on any TWSS-related lewdness. Furthermore, in situations that might not be appropriate for the infamous comment, you won’t have to refrain from saying it — you can use languages others won’t understand! Thank you, TWSS:Worldwide, for allowing us to spread and perpetuate the revolution.
