this is really bad…the interface is pretty much perfect and really fast but there is a pathetically small amount of songs. i listen to a lot of alternative and i typed in Cute is What We Aim For and got nothing…

Check out Camena on the App Store. Got almost all my lyrics.
It has two sources, so if one fails, it uses the other.

Brilliant – I used to use Lyrical but that had licensing issues and ended up not being able to supply results. This seems to have got around those

Lyrics 2 provides official lyrics through Gracenote, so all licensing is ok, and songwriters actually get compensated for their work.
