Sun n Moon ($0.99) – As the name implies, this app tells you exactly when the sun and moon will rise and set for many locations worldwide. However, what makes this app special are the beautiful pictures the app delivers in conjunction with the times as well as the compass that tells you the exact direction the sun and moon will be coming from for your particular location. The app also enables Google Maps for you to set your location, and automatically handles changes in time zones and daylight savings time.

iSunBurn ($0.99) – While this may be more of a seasonal application, it is certainly useful, especially when you anticipate a lot of time outdoors. The app displays the UV index for your location or a location of your choosing, as well as what the UV index indicates and what protection it necessitates. World Weather ($0.99) – As is insinuated by the app’s title, World Weather provides you weather forecasts and updates for over 850,000 cities around the world. The app has GPS capabilities so that it can locate you for the most accurate information displays, and in addition to the usual weather conditions, the app also tells you of sunrise and sunset times as well as what phase the moon is in. What makes this app special are the graphics it displays, such as breathtaking clips of the sun, as the background to the information.
