Google Latitude navigates its way to the iPhone |
Google Latitude, a Google web application that hit the web a few months ago, has just become accessible on the iPhone through the Google iPhone app or directly from the browser at http://www.google.com/latitude. Latitude allows you to find out exactly where your friends are, access directions to them, and send them an email or message, with or without a GPS on your device (you can manually enter your location). Long-distance calling turns economy-friendly with VoIP Apps |
There is a new, cheaper way to call that is sweeping the world: Voice over IP (VoIP). With this phenomenal invention, you don’t necessarily need a cell phone plan/signal or even a cell phone to make calls, and international rates are actually affordable. All you need is a WiFi connection in order to make calls to many countries world-wide or call back home when you travel internationally. Therefore, even your iPod Touch can become somewhat of a mobile phone, and call rates, domestic or international, no longer have to be a source of gray hairs.
