I would like to bring your attention to the Daytrotter app which is instantly got into the top 10 of my all time iPhone favorites.

This free app gives you access to the www.daytrotter.com’s large, daily updated database of the absolutely unique tracks recorded live by various musicians during two hour sessions at The Horseshack in downtown Rock Island, Ill.

“We’re giving you exclusive, re-worked, alternate versions of old songs and unreleased tracks by some of your favorite bands and by a lot of your next favorite bands.” said in the description on Daytrotter site

Application design is stylish and funky (love the colorful drawings of the bands), track loading is almost instant. In addition to “New sessions” and “Most played” sections it has “daytrotter radio”. I found a lot of interesting bands, some songs of which I actually looked up on iTunes and purchased after listening to these bands in Daytrotter app. I would recommend to developers to make this search right from the app and earn some money on iTunes affiliate program.

Smart Shuffle brings album shuffle back to you, randomly shuffling your music and playing it back one full album at a time. Through its interface, it also adds the ability to skip ahead to the next album or go back to a previous album. Touch the “Shuffle” button to create a new random mix.
If you quit the application, your music keeps playing. Open the iPod app, and album shuffle mode is retained, so you can play back random albums there as well.
