It’s easy to make a game.  It’s not so easy if you’re looking to make a completely original game.  Original ideas are hard to come by because a lot of them have already been done before.  So if you’re trying to make a game that is both new and interesting you’re going to find yourself either outright failing or investing more energy than you would have liked to have devoted to your project.  Most developers have realized this and have pursued two alternatives.  They could just straight up copy a game style, change some of the design, and call it a different name.  Or they could do what DropZap did and play around with the rules and design a completely new game from an old idea.

Connect the pipes with Aqueduct

Remember the days of “Connect the dots”? Well, those days have sadly become obsolete due to advances in gaming technology, but their spirit is still alive! Aqueduct is a game that takes and twists the concept of “Connect the dots” into a game of connect the pipes. The objective is to assemble all the given water pipes so they correctly link up the faucet and drain in order for the water to flow. Now, the first few levels of this game may seem ridiculously easy, but they’re really just a warm-up. Once you get the hang of how to connect the pipes, obstacles emerge and challenges present themselves, adding almost a maze element to the game. Once you’ve correctly assembled the pipes, you turn the faucet so that the water flows, and proceed to the next level. Even though the premise is simple, this is a game that can entertain you endlessly, and will bring back some childhood nostalgia while keeping you in modern times. The icing on the cake: the graphics are beautiful and seamless. This is a game that really anyone can enjoy.
