This app at first may seem a bit obvious since it is so much like the website of the same name. However, the reason why I felt it was important to write a blog about the NPR music app is that a lot of websites that have corresponding apps fail to do what NPR music did so well and that is create an app that represents the website and stays true to its purpose but is still easy and simple to use.

The first part of the NPR music app matches the first page of the website, the tabs are the same with one additional tab on the app called song of the day. Go into any one of those tabs and you will be able to scan the articles and concerts that have recently been featured. The app allows you to read the articles and listen to artists World Cafe performances. It also allows you to continue browsing other artists or features while you are listening to one, which I think is a great bonus; you don’t have to be stuck on one artists’ page until their performance ends, you can keep reading and deciding what you want to listen to next. If you are already a fan of NPR music, the website than you will definitely get just as much out of the app (which is free!) and begin to like it even more.
