What is my status when IM+ is not running? For example on my frineds skype? Do i appear “online” when IM+ is not running? Can that be achived? I understand that 3.0 firmware with push is required.
Is IM+ generating additional data traffic costs? Does it drain much battery?

When I click the home button to exit IM, I thought I should be notified of messages via a pop up. Although skype doesn’t stay connected and MSN sometimes signs out even though I’ve not signed in anywhere else. It’s set to stay connected for 1 day. Any ideas?

Since last upgrade with push (I believe it’s 3.1) app keeps crashing for me. Happens all the time, I get a notification that I have new messages (the badge) and when I open it I see them, but when I try to reply the app crashes. When I start it again and go to the contact I replied before crash, all messages received in push mode are lost. I think the crash happens when I send a message, I even had it happen while sending you guys a crash report. I tried to delete and reinstall the app, still not fixed.

IM+ doesn’t use SSL encryption for Google Talk connect.
We will consider adding this functionality to one of the next versions.

I wish that there was some sort of notification for when you leave the app and get a message.

Love the app but, I changed my contacts names from their display names to there real names. But I thought it would just show there real names when I click on there profile. So what I’m trying to say is ‘ is there a way to erase a given name so I can see there display name?

After updating my IM+ on my IPod Touch I am no longer able to send offline or receive offline msg’s but am able to do all of this on MSN on my pc. Can anyone give some idea on how to fix this or is it not available on version yet?

Everytime I connect using this app I get 5-6 requests to add persons to my contact list. I decline them and they still appear next time. If I use Palringo this never happens.

all contac names are in lower case. why we cannot see in correct original format ?
also we are not able to send messages to invisible contacts. we can receive but cannot send. pls a fix for this.

I’ve been using IM+ for 1 week now, and until yesterday everthing was great, i change my iphone 3g theme and used IM+ all morning with no problem, but yesterday night i logged in with my msn account and it kicked me out very often without displaying any message, could this be due to the theme change or is it a IM+ service problem?

I just ‘purchased’ the IM+ 1.8 for iPhone because I have heard of this application for a while and expected it to work flawlessly.
May I expected a lot BUT I can’t even see ‘any’ contacts from MSN or Google Talk, even though they show that they are online if I logon through a regular computer (mac).
Also, I was told before I bought it that it still works in the background on exiting this application which is why I paid for it in the first place.
If not Fring or Palringo work perfectly!!!

My IM full versiob keeps on disconnecting and an error keeps on popping out saying theres an error connecting. YES,i do get connected but just fot a few second. 1. IM Push mail is blocked by AOL.COM и BELLSOUTH.NET If you have address at one of these domains, please set up another address to get e-mails from IM Push. IM + successfully works with Google Mail, Hotmail & Yahoo Mail
2. Please check again if you have not mistyped domain’s name (like Hotmaiil, hotmaul etc.) validation feature will be included in one of the future IM+ versions.

When you go to background mode(the main “page” of your iPod), before that please set the time which you would like to stay online with the help of the Stay Online Mode (Settings=>Other=>Keep IM services connected on exit=>ON=.scroll down please=>Keep IM services connected for (you set up the needed time here) for example 12 hours).
Or you can use IM Push Mode( you set up an email address and you continue to get your IMs to this specifies email)

Hello i am having many problems with IM+lite. When i first got it i loved it. Yahoo aol and google talk worked just fine but then it crashed the second i logged in. I deleted and re-added the App on my ipod touch. Then it gives me the message tht says my aim log in is wrong but j used the same login in aim and mail and it is right. And my yahoo buddies wont load. Google talk works fine when the app doesnt crash. Can u please tell me whAt to do cuz i love the app but i need for it to work. I mean seriously i have re-added so many times pleaze help!!!!!

Please specify which IM+ you are currently using, IM+ Lite or full version.
If you have IM+ full version than you can use Say Online Mode, you can find it in settings and set the time you want app to run. Or you also can use IM Push Mode which allows you to set up an email to which messages will be send while you will be off.
Using IM+ Lite you cannot stay online.

Recently downloaded IM+ and realised that the ‘push’ feature doesnt work. I know its only 59p that i Have spent, but the push feature is what made me buy it. The strengths of this app is that it is not overly complicated & simple to just jump in & use.
Generally it is quite stable. Thats why I like it.
i would really like to see the status of contacts indicated correctly - i.e. a YahooIM contact on sms should indicate that & not just a generic ‘online’ icon.
Does seem to take quite a while to login to YahooIM servers in comparison to web based login via safari. Is this because my login is going through your third party servers? Probably

I find this app simple and great, but i saw a strange thing. I received a message while being offline and when I tried to read it was displayed along one column in the leftmost side of the screen and almost unreadable.
It is a known problem? Is a Fix planned for realease 1.7 ?

Whats the point of having IM+ Push, if the moment i start using IM+ MSN it will disconnect MSN from my HomePC and connect Iphone and when i go back to menu, i stay offline on MSN?? ppl tend to not talk with offline ppl you know.. Please make possible to stay away or online even if i go to Main Menu, theres a FREE app called Palringo that can do that.. why IM+ Cant?

I installed IM+ today. Have set-up Yahoo, MSN, and AIM accounts that I have on myself. When I try to add a contact to my list, it requires that I select a “group”. When I try to select a group, the application closes down. How do I add a group without this repeatedly occurring. Also, exactly what is a “group” that I am trying to add?

It looks to be a great app. My only concern is this..It loads everything fine but as soon as i close the app and do anything else it seems to log me out of everything. Is there a setting i must turn on or is this a bug? Any help would be much appreciated.

Used IM lite reasonably succesful since it was realsed for iPhone/touch. Upgraded to push version and although a little buggy was usable. Mainly did this as I am away from from Mac and needed constant IM devices. Downloaded the recent upgrade and sincethen it just hangs at start up. Have tried reinstalling. But no luck. As I NEED an reliable IM client am considering other apps. the pushed error message says ‘ loggedin at another location’ but this is impossible. Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a problem seeing my contact list after I updated to I’m+ lite. I could see my offline contact list when I changed the settings but. That’s it. Otherwise on the contact list page, it tells me to get the new update which is the push I’m+. Do I have to get the upgrade? Or can I stick to my I’m+ lite? It worked well previously on my ipod touch before lite version.

I have your latest IM+ for my BlackBerry, after working fine for one day, the next day however I continually had disconnects after 1-2mins. I have not found a keep awake setting anywhere and since it worked fine before I’m quite at a loss here.
Would have bought the product if this problem didn’t arise.
I only have a few days left on my trial so please help me in order for me to verify its working order before I consider buying the product again.
I have tried resetting settings, changing to http instead of tcp/ip, etc etc even when connected and imeddiately switching over to im+ push it will send me an email in a matter of minutes that I have been disconnected..

I have emailed the authors twice & they have been helpful, but at the same time, there are huge, I mean huge, problems with the architecture of this app’. All connections go to their server (ip-70-38-24-17.static.privatedns.com) and then to the destination server from there. Not only that, all connections are in clear text. Any one who knows what “tethereal” is can read all IM’s. This is a deal-breaker for our company. Some people might not mind some else reading all their IM’s (ie: FBI, CIA, NSA, Verizon, ATT, etc) but there is no way we are going to allow this. I really like the app’, so I hope these are resolved (ie: no intermediary & SSL enabled/working) and then we’re back in again. Thanks all. Cheers.

dj kzee, please download the latest version 1.2 from the App Store. Please keep the autoconnect option disabled. If it is enabled, disable it before installing.

i love this application. But i hope that u can rectify the problem of IM getting connected continuously and as the others were saying it’ll still go in offline mode. i have offeended some of my frens for not replying to thier MSN msgs. the actual fact was that i was not even awaer that the msgs were in the inbox and when i try to open the the msg it went into offline mode

rcarson and Niklas, we are aware that auto connection doesn’t always work perfectly. The workaround for this is load any page in the Safari so that the connection is established and than launch IM+.

jayr, unfortunately you cannot stay online when you come back to the main menu. This option is call background mode and it is disabled for any application running on the iPhone. That’s the way Apple works.

I like this app, but the “auto Connecting” function does not do it’s work to 100%. Meaning I often have to go to a web-page then back to the IM Plus application to get connected. If I do not start a webpage I get a Connection error. I do not know if this is connected to the operator (Telia) here in Sweden or if it is a bugg.

Would be good if the app would stay online in the background… or would this drain the battery?

Matthew, you can download IM+ from your iPod Touch directly without using the PC if the iPod SW version is 2.0 or higher. You need to have App Store installed on your iPod. Go to App Store, search for IM+ and install. You won’t be able to download IM+ from Safari browser at all.

even after the 2.1 update I still can’t connect using this app. Removing the old version then installing the new version doest help any.

The update ruins the user experiance. The first release worked. After this experiance I wouldn’t pay for anything this developer does in the future.

rebooting the iPhone seemed to have solved the connection problem. I’m also running the 2.1FW.

Werner, please launch the service you are using on the desktop of your PC. Then create a group there. After that this group will appear in the contact list of the appropriate service in IM+ when you launch it on your iPhone and you will be able to add a contact. Unfortunately it’s not possible to add a group in IM+.

Miron, please launch IM+, enter your login and password in any account and then exit the application. Your information will be saved. You can repeat the same with other accounts. And we are working on the stability issues. Thanks for the feedback)

if I try to add an contact a group must be selected. The grouplist is empty. How to get a group?

But, unfortunately, after 3 minutes of chatting, the application closed itself, and all the accounts I had (google & msn) where deleted!
Still can’t use the app until it will be more stable.

You can download any application for iPhone only if you have OS version 2.0. You are required to go to Apple Store, download the app, and transfer it to your iPhone through iTunes.

its a nice apps actually… The best UI for messenger apps i’ve ever seen.
But like miron said, disconnecting for every few minutes is nasty. Also its hang up frequently on my 2.0.2 firmware…

Felipe, to see your contact list from MSN messenger, just login to MSN service in IM+ with the same account that you use on the desktop. We will also add ability to view and edit contact information in the future version.

andrew, please check if you have enough space on your iPhone. Also please make sure that you downloaded the application to iTunes, then synced the iPhone and transferred the app to the iPhone. Maybe you should reproduce the situation with the help of iTunes user’s guide.

Hello Adi, the passwords are saved on the handheld locally. Passwords are transfered as well encrypted to our side. We do not store any information about the user, his login or password, the license for the app is all we have. Let me mention that IM+ All-in-One messenger is working perfectly for other mobile platforms for several years already and we have never received any complaints and never had any issues with password saving.
As you know there are no 3rd party apps that can work in background mode at all. We are working on the workaround to forward the messeges to email when the user is offline.

Nice Nifty App to have.

Crashes a lot, doesn’t keep your online status when you close the app, seems to always log on to AIM even when I disable the setting. Pretty buggy right now.
Forgot to add, no contact groups

Not a bad application, although it is a bit of a pain when the application shuts itself down (happened on a few occassions so far) and you have to re-enter account details.

Would be wayyy cooler if it was able to show icons, picture or photos in the text field

nice amd useful app, but throwing errors messages about parsing error or somthing, and put you offline. Happen too often. (ipod touch)

how can I have my contats from msn message on this app?

i downloaded it through itunes, but its not showing up on my iphone… i synced it and i saw it download to it, but nothing happend… any ideas?

My concerns are:
1. Where are my passwords kept, to my Yahoo, MSN and Google accounts. Are they sent to SHAPE Services servers? What kind of security guarantees are there!
2. It still doesn’t work when I am out and about, since no background apps on the iPhone. So people can’t reach me, any solution in-sight for this issue?

Dear Beth, please go to Settings bookmark -> User Interface tab -> check the box “Show offline contacts” and you will be able to see your offline contacts in the contact list.

Handy little app. Just wish it also showed those who were offline.
